Just learnt a little bit more about IP when the thought arose to see zoomcities.com and the reverse IP.
The Reverse IP Lookup says that there are 21 domains hosted at zoomcities.com. Can reverse IP give us this information accurately?

Most of the time they are accurate, those domain hosted are correct but it does not include the sub domains. Reverse IP is great to find out the physical location where the server is hosted and which registrar the domain is registered with. It shouldnt be the final basis of finding out how many site the host is hosting, because most of the time the host have multiple servers and they have divided the hosted accounts to those multiple servers hence different IP addresses

This is new information and am glad to have had it verified by an IT forum.
Could a person register the name in 1992 but the reverse IP shows the creation date as 2000? Some little bird said that there were some problems with the ICANN and some data was missing and as such the creation date is now recorded as 2000 instead of 1992? Was there such a problem?
Am learning to verify statements made on the net and how to do it the right way.
satu, this is just purely my opinion
Someone registered that domain in 1992 then it expired before 2000. Someone or the same person then registered the domain in 2000 so it gets recorded saying its created in 2000 instead of 1992. The keyword there is
the domain expired before 2000 But if that domain did not expired and they just keep renewing it, it should remain created in 1992.
But if that is not the case, then I would say its an internal issue with ICANN itself

Reverse IP = Whois
Reverse IP is easiest way to find all the domains (.com, .net, .org etc) websites hosted on a given IP address. Enter an IP address or domain name and receive a list of domains hosted on that IP.
It is often used to see who is using that web host before signing up or see who else is on your server. Also Parking Sites can be identified by the large number domains parked on their IP address, consequently being a great tool to expose scam sites, hosted on the same server as the one you found.
I hope it helps,
Cheers!

I just want to say there's a difference between reverse DNS and WHOIS.
Reverse DNS could be set to anything. I could set my reverse DNS to dfsd5ysdrghds.com if I wanted, and then reverse DNS would give no information.
However, WHOIS can give a lot about the physical location of the IP as well as the owner. The most accurate you get is down to ISP level.
