i have heard of a mybb bridge to wordpress but the person who had it wont share it as he had it customarily made and had to pay out for it.

Well if that was the case I suppose it was not so bad of him not to share, even though it would have shown his generosity if he had decided to share it.

Well, you don't really need a bridge - you can pretty much use most forum scripts and just modify the templates to look like your blog.

It still needs some work... if you want to try it you should first test it before you screw up your site/board.
Also, the latest version doesn't merge members...

bbpress is not a mature and reliable forum board..
wait the wordpress2.2.3+ will support PHPbb
