Hi all ,

I have noticed that many of my site visitors are going down , so when I asked some of my friends they said they hated the advertisements on my website not the content , so I have decided to keep my website AD free so that I can keep up my traffic anyway I will keep a punch of six 125*125 px banners for sponsors and friends.

So guys do u have any problem with your traffic because of ADz from Adsense or other advertising programs.

and will you do as what I did and take away those adverts , I mean come on I didn't ever get to 100 bucks with Adsense I have been paused on the figure 27$ all my adsense- life ?

regards,
YESAR
It can cause your website to load slow. And if your an Internet Explorer user, you might expect some "not responding" messages sometimes. Other than that, I do not care if I see ads or not, as some ads are really useful. Traffic on my website? lol? What traffic? hmmm...

Edit:
!Reached 100 yay!
some anti phising mechanism sometimes detect some ads as malicious so they interfere with page load...
i myself don't really bother with the adsense since i use firefox blocker for things like that.
@chankarwing: congrats for your 100 post, lets make it 101 Tongue
Ads can be bothersome for the visitors, but one way and another, if you choose the right method to display your ads, then it will benefit the site owner and the visitor too.

And yes, I hate PopUps, thanks to Firefox for the antiAds/NoScript Addons.
Anyone used hosts files? Learned about it from a forum on security and after putting the host file in the right place. Like on this forums, I don't see any google ads, or what ever ads. But if I want to see them, just deactivate the host file. So am not worried if the site had good or bad ads, I just don't see any at all. If the ads do show up, then one just has to add the URL of the "offending" ads and tada... the ads disappear.
there is a balance between amount of ads and visitors likeing your site...

too little ads and your growing site will soon start digging away at your funds, too many ads and your not going to get visitors or ad clicks!
Yeah, I would go for the first one:

People only put ads to make money. So you might as well put your ads perfectly, showing relevant and useful ads, so people have interest in clicking them.

@reedone816 - 102 now Tongue

It actually depends one what kind of ads for me.. Google ads are fine.. I prefer professional looking ads that blends well with the design of the website as a whole.. some ads distorts the whole look of the site and disgusts people when they visit the site.. lolx.. An ad free site of cos looks pleasing as the webmaster can plan the whole layout without any obstructions..
pop ups are bad but if the ads are just like a small banner or link its ok for me
I don't mind ads personally as long as they aren't too obtrusive (which won't be the case for you yesar). It depends on the type of Website you have, for instance I am creating a new game and I know I will make money out of it, because the genre/category of the site. I, personally will add 1 big sized advertisement to the bottom of each page and will also be adding a members upgrade section where players can get specific upgrades and they can pay with their mobile. If you wish to implement such system on your site yesar, I recommend onebip (a little PHP knowledge is required, however (there are guides on how to use the mobile-payment system)) http://www.onebip.com. It's a great way of generating revenue especially for games Smile.
I dont have 'adverts' on any of my sites. I only have partnerships with other websites relevant to my own. And that would only be a link on a certain page.
What ads? Oh, I haven't seen any ads since 2006(Adblock). Biggrin

I'm not using ads on my site because it's only a blog.(for now)
I agree with goughy on having a balance. I don't believe that all sites would go ad-free, and thus I agree that its all about site design.

Anyway, I think there have been a study that show that most people would have had sub-consciously filtered out ads esp since ads normally appear on certain areas of the website..
Adsense can actually scare people a bit, feels like a Spam site etc.
as far as I'm concern, I don't like website that has google adsense or ad that goes blinking. So I don't put it on my site as well.
