Its Official, Microsoft has announced that they will launch a Web Based Microsoft Office sometime next year to rival Google who is offering such similar service for free! Will you actually pay to use MS Office online? I bet it will have more features than the Free web based office suite that Google is offering

All I have to say is...finally! I'll have to see how everything pans out. If they make it good, it will probably be worth the cost.
Looks like Google is thinking one step ahead of MS.
Remember how windows used to be "free" everyone copied it around and got to love it. Then they started licensing. Soon Google might consider doing that too. It's better in the long run to collect like USD1 per month than USD100 for a license.
People are used to paying for rent and for water and for electricity and for gas, all monthly bills. People can accept that. Also look at how the iTunes store allows us to buy one song at a time. People don't see the "cost" when they pay little by little. But think about it. Would you be using "Word" for only one month?
Next thing is they start charging for emails (secure and more features) monthly bills like your phone
