Was testing speeds on speedtest.net and trying pinging from command prompt and realised some time differences.

When pinging via command line - 157ms but pinging results via speedtest.net it was 357ms. anyone knows why there's such a large difference?

Different servers. The 157ms server is probably closer to you.

ping basically check round trip time. different number of hops for different locations. so your results just meant that another server has more hops.
