yeah i too like nvidia, but others than look at the generation/serial number, you should check other specs of the vga, like:
type of ram (ddr1, ddr2, ddr3)?
how wide is the tranfer data (64kb, 128kb,256kb)?
that two things, determine how fast is the graphics being processed...
while the serial n8400 means the technology of the graphics, like pixel shaders version, vertex shaders version, opengl version, etc...
other you should think of:
is it all solid capacitors?
how is the fan/heatsink?
who is the manufacturer?
