Just got FireFox 3.0.8
Love the automatic updates.

Autoupdate works better and better. But FF itself isn't. They still have lot of work to do to catch up with Opera. I'm building a new business site using a lot of Ajax and DHTML and FF sometimes acts a bit strange. Not as strange as M$IE, this one is really weird s**t, but nevertheless, Fox still isn't as good as I might want it to be...

Fox is good enough to me

It is good enough for most users, it's definitely better than IE. But when you're building a site using something more than pure HTML/CSS/(PHP etc.), you can have problems with it. Minor problems, especially when you compare it with IE, but sometimes even the slightest problem can be annoying.

Autoupdate is broken on Mac. I always have to download the full update for some reason. Maybe it's just my computer.

Opera users raise your hands!

I raise both my hands, because I not only use Opera for few years now, I also convinced many people to use it (my g/f uses it every day and loves it, just like me).

Help me love Opera.
When it loads it takes a long time. How come? FF loads much faster.

Another update, FF is now 3.0.10

And Opera is still better, faster and smoother

That's really strange, on every computer I've tested Opera loaded at least 20-30% faster than FireFox. On my comp it loads more than 50% faster. But that's because I use it frequently and there's a system cache for it.

Acid3 test:
Opera9.64: 85%
FireFox3.0.10: 71% (-14%)
MSIE8: 20% (-65%)

And you think why Microsoft tries so hard to get Opera and the Opera development team to make their new browser?

I think the new version of FF has an Acid3 score of 94. Firefox 3.5 kicks Opera's butt now though: http://www.betanews.com/article/More-spe...1240502768 The alpha version is even better.

We're talking about stable releases. And the last stable version of Firefox is 3.0.10. And I just made Acid3 test in FF 3.0.10 and it couldn't go beyond 71%. And 3.5 beta4 had 93%. BUT, Opera 10 Turbo made 100% So, still better, even with pre-release versions...

Anyway, it's like arguing which holidays are better - Christmas or Easter... What's most important is that both browsers beat the hell out of shIEt

Generally speaking I like FireFox. I switched over back in IE6 days. My only complaint is the Auto Update. I would be happy if it told me update was available and gave me a choice to update but it seems to want to make you update weather you want to or not.
