Am looking for a feature but not sure if there's a name for it.
Would like to have a forum where every post is emailed to the members and members can reply via their email without actually visiting the board.
Anyone knows if there's a name for this feature? Or if there's such a feature in MyBB?
I know that they have that feature in WordPress, but it's not used much. You can subscribe to forums and threads here, but you can't reply via email. You might as well use an email list instead.
The client's association has been using Yahoo Groups mailing list but now want a forum. Have suggested MyBB as the forum base but the commitee says the older members in the association are more familiar with mailing list while the younger members are more familiar with forums. The older ones want to keep to email but the younger ones have no problems moving with technology since they are online most of the time.
As such am looking for a solution for my client that works both ways. Also need to make the transition as smooth as possible to ensure the changes do not cause difficulties especially for the older members.
Any advice?
I think Google Groups might be what you want. I'm not complete sure if it has reply by email, but the look of it might be something both old and young people can handle.
