Can graphics compression of server sent web pages be prevented?
Hi:
We recently acquired a server, and I noticed that graphics on web pages undergo some kind of compression. This is particularly obvious when a graphic has a slight color gradient and you see several big squares or other shapes. Can someone give me a noun or proper name corresponding to this phenomenon so that I can "google" it? Is this something easy to fix like "Open Control panel, look for AAAAAA, click BBBBBB and scroll down and uncheck the checkbox for CCCCCCC"? Currently our server is accessed only by a few people at our corporate site so the bandwidth savings are negligible. -Larry Start with something simple that works. |

RE: Can graphics compression of server sent web pages be prevented?
I doubt it, but many pictures will show compression artifacts while they're loading.
